Cisco video surveillance 2621V IP dome (CIVS-IPC-2621) appears to have manufacturing defect

Product quality issues continue to plague Cisco hardware.

The Cisco support community has revealed that the Cisco video surveillance 2621V IP dome (CIVS-IPC-2621) digital camera may have a manufacturing defect:

"Cameras with serial numbers that start with SER1516xxxx to SER1526xxxx have a 'Pixim Sensor wire-bonding Issue', where a manufacturing defect has affected the assembly of the sensor. It cannot be prevented, the only remedy is replacement."

Given the rumored shenanigans behind Cisco's defective memory fiasco, it's not unusual these days to have numerous Cisco RMAs and customer frustrations caused by what appear to be manufacturing defects.
