Location of Position: Falls Church, VA
Information systems assurance and security is a paramount concern for businesses and organizations across the
globe today. At IntelliDyne, we host the TRICARE Management Activity (TMA) Intranet, as well as data and
applications critical to the Department of Defense (DoD) mission, and these assets must be available and secure.
The (Health Affairs) HA/TMA network supports close to 2500 workstation users, more than 200 enterprise servers,
and 250 network devices.
Traditionally, security and information assurance has been the responsibility of the Systems Administrator. As
TRICARE grows and the size and complexity of these information systems increases, however, a specific focus on
security and information assurance is required to ensure the safety and success of the TMA mission.
To facilitate the TMA mission and meet its security requirements, the Security Engineer will:
• Organize and manage the processes and tasks related to the security of IT systems in the TMA environment
• Coordinate these security efforts in network operations with the Information Assurance Officer
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Responsible for ensuring the overall security posture of the network
• Provide reporting metrics to management to assist with policy and direction
• Assist the MHS/IA (Military Health System/Information Assurance) staff with any scanning or assessment
activities
• Be a subject matter expert (SME) on all DISA (Defense Information Security Agency) and DoD Regulations
governing the network
• Ability to provide guidance and interpretation of all directives and information systems policies
• Monitor and report, as well as advise and design systems, to enhance or increase security level of the IT
environment and support the TMA mission
• Work directly with the Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineering Group to assist with configuration and
implementation of security related controls and security policy interpretation
• Create proactive processes to monitor and detect threats and trends in the IT environment
• Performing risk assessments on software and hardware systems
• Able to analyze security tool data from different sources such as PIX FW, Hercules, McAfee IPS, sys logs
and more.

• Thorough understand of Windows environment and vulnerabilities.
Required Skills:
• Prior IT security experience - 3 years minimum
• Superior writing skills
• System and/or Network Security log review background.
• The Security Operations Center Manager report and provide updates to senior management.
• The Security Operations Center Manager must aggressively pursue outages, actively guide problems to
quick resolution, interface proactively with customers, and focus on staff mentoring and development.
Education and Certifications:
• BA or BS Degree
• CISSP will be eventually require for all DoD contract
