Location: Falls Church, Virginia Employment Type: Direct; Full-Time Position Summary: IntelliDyne, LLC is seeking Mid-Level Systems Engineers for our TMA Network Operations in Falls Church, Virginia to assist us on our direct contract with DoD. The Mid-level Systems Engineer will assist us to facilitate the mission and meet requirements the Systems Engineer will provide support to the TMA server and infrastructure environment. The TMA environment supports nearly 2500 users with workstations, more than 250 Enterprise Servers, and 250 network devices. IntelliDyne hosts the TRICARE Management Activity Intranet, data and applications critical to the Department of Defense mission and these assets must be available. As TRICARE grows and the size and complexity of these information systems increases, a specific focus on operational readiness and engineering is required to ensure the success of the TMA mission. Responsibilities: · Installs, configures, updates, and maintains MS Windows servers for a DOD client in a large-complex environment. · Implements complex hardware deployments, software upgrades, and significant projects ; replaces failed hardware; works with vendors isolate and resolve hardware problems. · Performs Tier I-III problem management, isolation, and resolution. · Addresses and rectifies Operating Systems problems, works with Microsoft or other vendors as necessary. · Maintains and upgrades automated scripts for application products to facilitate operational tasks. · Monitors system capacity (CPU, memory, ports, disk space, etc.) and takes appropriate action to report and correct any issues. · Coordinates with Lead Systems Engineers , Security, and Asset Management, Customer Service, and Helpdesk teams as necessary for problem support and project management. · Participates in DITSCAP and internal scans, mitigates DITSCAP/DIACAP and internal findings, and launches security patches, IAVAs, and VM Mitigations as required. Installs and upgrades software updates and security patches. Maintains records in VMS, monitors signs of system intrusion. 5203 Leesburg Pike, Suite 400, Falls Church, VA 22041 (703) 575-9715 www.intellidyne-llc.com · Monitors faults, performance, and capacity issues; prepares remediation reports and documentation; reviews and analyzes daily reports and prepares periodic reports for network status and baseline performance; researches, identifies, and analyzes trends of utilization and errors, us es Remedy to document trouble tickets and keep track of issues and resolutions, establishes/recommends resolution strategies accordance with fault, performance, or capacity-related items; insures corresponding documentation is accurate and maintained. · Maintains user and system account accuracy via MS Active Directory. · Provides 24 x 7 support for MS Windows servers and environment, participates in rotating “on-call” schedule, and participates in monthly weekend downtime effort. · Evaluates analytically and systematically issues of workflows and organization and develops plans for appropriate corrective action. · Conducts gap analyses as needed, and provides results and recommendations to management for review. · Supports, modifies and installs software-programming applications. Required Skills and Experience: · Minimum 5 years performing in a Systems Engineering or Systems Administrative role. · Minimum 5 years working in a MS Windows environment. · Minimum 3 years performing in a Mid-Level Systems Engineering role. · Hands -on experience working with Microsoft operating systems (XP, W2k3, W2k). · Hands -on experience with MS Active Directory, Domain Controller functionality, WINS; file backup systems, and government security practices. · Hands -on experience in MS IIS and MS SQL that integrate with DoD PKI · Knowledge of IP based platforms and addressing, DHCP, DNS, Cisco products and technology, client/server computing. · Some level of understanding in Windows script programming (e.g. Windows Host Scripting, SMS Script, VBScript, etc), and working with automated workstation patch management and deployment tools (e.g. SMS, Ghost, Acronis, iNode, Persystent Enterpise, etc.). · Knowledge of paging and swapping, inter-process communications, file-system concepts (Inode, clustering, logical partitions), network monitoring systems, and security scanning tools (Retina, PGD). · Aptitude to program in an administrative language, as well as prepare, test, and deploy scripts aimed at improving efficiencies or correcting problems. · Ability to solve complex systems problems quickly with little technical guidance, and develop automated corrective measures. · Strong interpersonal and written/oral communications skills; capable of interfacing with all levels of management, development engineers , Helpdesk team, and other technical and administrative departments. · Skilled in trending chronic problems, engaging in capability planning, analyzing security events, as well as preparing the corresponding documentation. Education: · A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or comparable experience.
