Cisco pays an average salary of $112K to its H-1B visa workers
Thu, 05/06/10 - 7:14pm    Add your comment

Almost 3 years ago I blogged that Cisco bragged it had created 8,000 new jobs in the United States, tellingly, Cisco wouldn't reveal how many of its new U.S. jobs actually went to U.S. citizens:

Cisco caught in maelstrom over fake job ads to hire H-1B visa holders

Then last month I blogged that Massachusetts State Senator - Jamie Eldridge, was seeking to hold Cisco both accountable and responsible for not creating the jobs it was required to create after receiving tax breaks:

Did Cisco fail to create new jobs for the tax breaks it received?

Interestingly, as a follow-up to my previous blogs, Myvisajobs.com - an information portal that helps immigrants find jobs and settle down in United States, released the average salary that Cisco pays to its H-1B visa workers: $112,412 (see the table below)

Note: Terry Alberstein, the lead for Cisco's corporate public relations team, did not respond to my request for Cisco's confirmation as to the accuracy of the average Myvisajobs.com Cisco H-1B visa salary.

Of course, I personally find it informative to read Cisco's employee reviews on Glassdoor.com (which provide an inside look at what it's really like to work for Cisco Systems).
