More than 4,000 CCIEs work at Cisco

Last month I blogged that only 630 CCIEs remained at Cisco.

Well, I'm pleased to report this week that I've got "egg-on-my-face" because I've now verified there's more than 4,000 CCIEs at Cisco!

Additionally, I've also been able to verify that the 630 figure I blogged about last month, now only represents the number of CCIEs working within Cisco's Technical Services organization.

Amazingly up until now, no one in the CCIE community knew the number of CCIEs at Cisco.

So based on the last known worldwide CCIE count published on April 30, 2010 it now appears the 4,000 CCIEs working at Cisco represent approximately 19% of the worldwide CCIE community (view the 10-year worldwide CCIE count).
